Mr. Barnette is a partner in the law firm of McCutchen Blanton Johnson & Barnette, LLP. He was born in Greenwood, South Carolina on August 16, 1952 and graduated with a B.A. in Economics from Wofford College in 1974. Mr. Barnette received his law degree from the University of South Carolina Law School in 1977. He was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1977, the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina in 1978 and the United States Court of Appeals, Fourth Judicial Circuit, in 1982. Mr. Barnette served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of South Carolina from 1979 through 1992. He is a member of the Richland County and American Bar Associations, the South Carolina Bar, and the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys Association. Mr. Barnette has been involved extensively in civil litigation before all Courts of the State of South Carolina and the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina.
