Mr. Beard concentrates his practice in workers' compensation, occupational disease, employment law, insurance regulatory matters, and ERISA. An Atlanta, GA native, Grady attended Louisiana State University and received his B.S. from Northwestern State University, summa cum laude, in 1983. He attended Louisiana State University School of Law and earned his J.D. from Emory University in 1987. Grady co-authored the 1992 supplement to The Law of Workers' Compensation Insurance in South Carolina and The Law of Workers' Compensation Insurance in South Carolina (1998, Second Edition; 2000 Supplement; and 2003, Third Edition). He is a member of the Richland County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, and the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Educational Association. Previously, Grady served as co-chair of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys Association. He is a past recipient of the South Carolina Pro Bono Service Award and was nominated for South Carolina Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year in 1990. Grady formerly served on the Board of Directors of Palmetto Place Children's Emergency Shelter. In addition to being admitted to practice before the courts of South Carolina, Mr. Beard is admitted to the Georgia Bar and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Middle and Northern Districts of Georgia and the United States Courts of Appeal for the Fourth and Eleventh Circuits.
