Jim has practiced law in Charleston, South Carolina with Clawson & Staubes, LLC since March 1986. He has tried numerous cases to jury verdict in both the state and federal courts of South Carolina. Within the last three years, Jim’s emphasis of practice has shifted to construction defects litigation.
A former classification and compensation analyst for the South Carolina State Personnel Division, Jim received his law degree from the school of law at Campbell University. He claims his most significant accomplishment there was meeting fellow law school classmate and future wife, Beth Marshall.
Jim grew up in and about Charlotte, North Carolina, then moved with his family to South Carolina after high school graduation. In South Carolina, he has lived in Myrtle Beach, Columbia and Charleston.
Jim and Beth are proud parents of two children, Cole and Sarah.
