Mr. Becker's practice focuses exclusively on complex business and commercial litigation, primarily involving business and consumer financial services, commercial and real estate contracts, unfair trade practices, and intellectual property. Mr. Becker is also frequently involved in class action litigation representing defendants.
Mr. Becker regularly represents numerous national and regional financial services companies including banks, mortgage lenders, finance companies, and credit card companies. He has also represented automotive manufacturers in dealer franchise lawsuits and automobile dealers in consumer warranty, financing, and statutory compliance claims. Examples of the matters handled include a multi-million dollar indemnification contract dispute and successfully defending lenders in class actions involving consumer lending practices. Recently, he successfully defended a state-wide class of insurance agents in obtaining a reversal on appeal of a class certification order in a case involving insurance marketing practices. In addition, Mr. Becker has represented numerous clients in matters involving disputes over intellectual property such as trademarks and trade secrets.
Mr. Becker previously served as the Group Leader for the Firm's Litigation Department.
Prior to practicing law, Mr. Becker was employed as a staff member for a U.S. Senator, as an asset manager for a publicly-traded real estate investment trust, and as co-owner of his own commercial real estate services company.
