William Bobo is a partner of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP in Charleston where he practices in the areas of commercial real estate and business law. A member of the South Carolina Bar, Mr. Bobo has extensive experience in the representation of commercial and residential real estate developers.
In 2005, Mr. Bobo was recognized in the Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business publication for his experience in real estate law. As stated in the publication, “He is known for his representation of commercial and residential real estate developers, and clients feel ‘he is excellent in his responsive service and high-quality advice.’”
Mr. Bobo is the author of "Edmonds v. Compagnie Generale Translantique: The Supreme Court Sets a Course in Third-Party Litigation Under the Longshoremen's and Harbor Workers Compensation Act", 31 S.C. L. REV. 1699, 1980. Mr. Bobo is a member of the American Bar Association, the Charleston County Bar Association, and the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys' Association. Prior to joining Nelson Mullins, Mr. Bobo practiced in real estate, banking, and corporate law with another leading South Carolina firm. He served as a lieutenant on active duty with the U.S. Navy from 1972-77.
In 1979, Mr. Bobo earned a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law where he was a member of the Order of Wig and Robe. Mr. Bobo earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1972.
